First Lady Jill Biden to join for the first two stops.
Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced that he will begin a week-long, multi-state road trip on Monday, September 12. The Road to Success Back to School Bus Tour will begin in Tennessee and travel to the east coast, visiting school districts and highlighting how governments, communities, and school leaders are helping students recover both academically and mentally. First Lady Jill Biden will accompany the education secretary for the first two stops, and other leaders will be joining him along the way.
“I am thrilled to be traveling across the eastern states and highlighting innovative ways local, state, and federal efforts are helping students recover and succeed in and out of the classroom,” said Secretary Cardona. “This year will be one of the most important ever, as we not only work to catch students up, but put them in a position to do even better than where they were before March 2020.”
